Funeral services for Mr. Roy Hays, age 89, are scheduled for 3 PM, Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Living Water Pentecostal Church in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hays passed away late Monday in Parsons. He was born May 25, 1931 in Scotts Hill to the late John Franklin Hays and Flora Campbell Clenney. He was retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad and owned and operated Lion’s and Mobile Service Stations in Memphis and Hays Lawn Service. He was a U. S. Marine serving in the Korean Conflict and a member of Rushing’s Grove Church. He enjoyed crappie fishing and remodeling Volkswagon Beetles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorris Ruth Hays; three sons, Johnny, Eddy, and Sammy Hays; a brother, Butch Hays; and three sisters, Marene Scott, Faylene Patterson, and Betty Singleton. Survivors include his two sons, Kenny Hays (Ann) and Robby Hays (Tammy); his daughter, Jessica Fields (Jeremy); two brothers, Max Ray Hays and Jerry Hays; two sisters, Johnny Faye Ivey and Morris Southerland (Skimp); a daughter-in-laws, Vickie Hays and Peggy; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 12-3 PM at the church and request that all visitors wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.
