Roy Earl Glass, Sr. Profile Photo Roy Earl “Buddy” Glass, Sr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, departed this world on August 6, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 26, 1945, to the late Fred and Katherine Glass.

Roy was a man who radiated warmth and kindness wherever he went. He had an unwavering love for people and an innate ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

One of Roy’s greatest passions was cooking. He took delight in preparing delicious meals that brought together family and friends around the table. The joy he found in cooking was matched only by the happiness he derived from seeing others savor his culinary creations.

In his leisure time, Roy enjoyed attending yard sales, always on the lookout for unique treasures and bargains. His enthusiasm for these adventures was contagious, and he often turned these experiences into bonding moments with loved ones.

Above all else, Roy valued his family. They were the center of his universe, and he cherished every moment spent with them. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he nurtured strong and lasting bonds that will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind.

Roy also attened Haylong High School in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

Roy is survived by his children: Roy Earl Glass, Jr. (Tina), Tammy Nichols (Paul), Michael Glass (Frances), Phillip Glass (Donna), Johnny Glass (Amanda) and David Webb (Rachel); siblings: Peggy McKennon, Kaye Casias, Billy Glass (Carol), and Donald Glass; grandchildren: Christopher (Stephanie) Hodge, Daniel (Jessica) Hodge, Crystal Dale (Steven), Dwayne Glass, Brittany Howell (Brandon), Jessica Pike, Jonathan Pike (Brooklynn), Tyler Glass, and Madison Glass; and 19 great grandchildren.

Roy is preceded in death by his child: Jason Glass; brothers: Ronnie and Freddie Glass; and parents.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Hodge, Daniel Hodge, Dwayne Glass, Jonathan Pike, Steven Dale, Brandon Howell, Josh Ayers, and Robby McKennon.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Vaughn, Randy Howell, and the members of Main Street Church of Christ.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee on August 8, 2023. The graveside will be on August 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Freedom Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee with Randy Kersey officiating.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
