Ross Britton Melvin, Jr., 84 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, September 19th, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Melvin was born on July 13th, 1936, to Ross Britton Melvin Sr. and Beatrice Dawson Melvin.
Funeral services for Mr. Melvin will be Tuesday, September 22nd, at 6:00pm at the Limestone Event Center. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 5:00-6:00pm at the event center. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 23rd, at 4pm at Athens City Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Bentley Melvin, of 59 years; children Russell Melvin (Ella), Teresa Bauer (Mickey), and April Davis (Lance); grandchildren Abbie Broam (John), Makayla Kennedy (Cody), Mallory Jackson (Blake), Mackenzie Davis, and Luke Davis; great-grandchildren Monroe Wade Kennedy, Parker Knox Broam, and soon-to-be Asher Ross Jackson; his loving, devoted sister Dottie Brewer; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Preceded in death by his parents; and brother Buddy Melvin, who passed at the age of 5.
