Rosella “Rosie” Mullinax Burton, 88, of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2022, at Ridgewood Health Care.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 10 until 11:30 a.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 11:30 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at New Prospect Cemetery. Mike Adams will officiate.

Rosella was born in Norris, South Carolina on July 10, 1933. She and Bobby were married in 1951 and they raised three children in Jasper. She was a former employee of Walker County Bank. She loved her customers and was known for sharing Dum Dum suckers. She worked for George Deavours Accounting for over 15 years and retired to watch her great-grands grow.

Rosella was a member of First Baptist Church and then later became a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was active with her ladies Sunday School class. She enjoyed playing her piano and organ, sewing and making an awesome pound cake for all her friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and an amazing Granny. She leaves behind an unfillable void.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Burton; daughter, Debbe Vines; parents, Herman and Jessie Mullinax; siblings, Walter Mullinax, Charles Mullinax, Donald Mullinax and Katherine Mullinax, Louise Day and Ann Moore; grandparents, Janie and James Addison all of South Carolina.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Hudson (Mark) of Jasper; son, Bob T Burton (Debra) of Jasper; grandchildren, Laurie Elliott, Lee Gentry, Mathew Hudson (Misty), Dawn Holliday (Brandon), Andy Lee (Marilyn) and Joseph Lee (Cystal); great grandchildren, Harlee Vines, Sam Elliott, Shelby Hudson, John Maddox Hudson, Bryghtin Holliday, Gracelin Holliday, Abby Mercer, Piper Lee, Brainnin Lee, Aby Lee and Kegan Lee; brother-in-law, Dan Burton (Jenella) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
