Rose Elaine StricklandRose Elaine Strickland was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the age of 78. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Elaine was born to Juanita and William Tignor on November 4, 1943. She grew up in Independence, Missouri and was the oldest of four children. After high school, she attended Graceland University in Independence, Missouri. Elaine eventually moved to Arab, Alabama, where she settled down and raised three children. After spending time as a stay-at-home mom, she went to work for the US Army in civilian service at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Elaine joyously retired in August 2006. During her retirement, she spent her days researching genealogy, shopping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Elaine was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Elaine is survived by her daughter and husband Debbie and Chad Raney, her son Brian Strickland, her daughter and husband Suzy and Chad Bostick. Her sister Connie Harper, brother and wife Mike and Dorothy Tignor, brother and wife Jerry and Donna Tignor. Her grandchildren Caitlin Adams, Claire Adams, Christian Adams, Spencer Strickland, Landon Strickland, Braden Bostick, Adaline Bostick, Cassie Raney, Zach Raney. She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, a donation in Elaine’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
