Rosa Evelyn Clayton Weaver age 88, passed away July 16, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born September 1, 1934 in the Hickory Corner Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Alvin Odell and Georgia Lavera Patterson Clayton. She married Eldon Wayne Weaver in December 1950. Mr. Weaver was a Baptist preacher and she worked along beside of him ministering in churches primarily in Iowa and Tennessee. Locally they ministered at the New Home Church and then Cornerstone, now Gospel Light Church in Jackson.

She was a member of the Gospel Light Church in Jackson.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Weaver is survived by two sons, Anthony Wayne Weaver of Jackson and Daniel Ray Weaver (Vicki) of Belize, Central America; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Clayton (Diann), Dinnos Clayton (Becky), Guy Clayton (Debbie) and Paul Clayton and three sisters, Mayrene Miller, Phyllis Holmes (Billy) and Kathy Meek (Ronnie) all of Hickory Corner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eldon Wayne Weaver in March 2007, four brothers, Geney Clayton, Earl Clayton, Avis Clayton and Gerald Clayton, and a sister, Hazel Clayton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 20th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Rev. Dan Weaver and Pastor Wade Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
