Ronnie Lynn Whitten was born February 27, 1955 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Ernest (Pappy) and Terry Bess Barnes Whitten.
Mr. Whitten was a very talented Bluegrass musician. His favorite instrument was the banjo but he could play any instrument. He picked the banjo with Bluegrass artists such as Bill Monroe, James Monroe, Kenny Baker, Josh Graves and Wayne Lewis. He attended the Church on the Rock in Savannah, Tennessee.
Mr. Whitten departed this life on December 11, 2016 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 61 Years, 9 Months, 14 Days. He is survived by a brother, Wayne Whitten and wife Sandra of Selmer, TN; a special friend, Cindy Whitten Crocker of Cottage Grove, TN; seven grandchildren, Andrew Turner, Gavin Dickey, Merri Beth Ricketts, Lawson Trefz, Carter Trefz, Connor Sims, and Waylon Sims; children, Heather Gayhart, Kim Pruitt and husband Tom, Daniel Sims and wife Jada; nephews, Ernie Whitten, Joey Whitten and wife, Heather and Jeremy Whitten and wife, Holly; niece, Patricia Underwood; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Whitten was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Cristen Whitten on April 15, 2016; a brother, Ray Whitten.
