Ronnie Gene Benson was born on May 25, 1965 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Calvin J.A. Benson and Caroline Jean Graham Doyle.
On July 21, 1985, he was united in marriage to Julia Hairfield, who survives.
Ronnie worked for Olive Hill Hardwood Co. for 37 years. He loved his horses and enjoyed going fishing. He was known for his flirty personality and his kind heart. Ronnie was a hero to his family and they will miss him very much.
Ronnie Gene Benson departed this life on July 16, 2023 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 58 years, 1 month, and 21 days.
He is survived by his wife of almost 38 years, Julia Benson; daughters, Christy Banks and her husband Christopher and Kala Benson; son, Jhonny “Bubba” Powell; sister, Teresa Burcham; brothers, Shane Benson, Terry Benson, and Bobby Locklear; brother in law, Sam Hairfield; sister in law, Crystal Locklear; grandchildren, Skylar Benson and Jack Banks; aunts, Brenda Davis, Frances Tilley, and Debbie Roberts; uncle, Sam Roberts; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Locklear and granddaughter, Kassandra Powell.
