Ronald Westmoreland, 69, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at North Alabama Medical Center. Visitation will be Sunday, April 14 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Park. Officiants will be Harrison Chastain and Ronnie Pannell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Levera Westmoreland; brothers, Ken and Tom Westmoreland; sister Jennifer Westmoreland Boyd.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Rhodes Westmoreland; daughters Mary Rippey and Anna Bingham (Kevin); grandchildren, Brannan Rippey, Kalen, Will and Nate Bingham; sisters-in-law, Fran and Sue Westmoreland; brother-in-law Erick Boyd; three nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin, Kalen and Will Bingham, Brannan Rippey, Erick Boyd and Trey Westmoreland.
Ron was a loving husband to Debbie for 49 years. He loved his daughters and grandsons and was an active part of their lives.
He was a member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ. He worked as a chemical engineer and project manager with TVA.
Ron played tennis in the Shoals area for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, especially with the Atlas church golf group. He was an avid Alabama football fan.
He had a gift for talking with others and never met a stranger.
Most importantly, he was a faithful Christian who strived to put God first.
