Ronald Ray Martin, of Madison, Alabama, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on November 9, 2024.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Stewart Martin; stepdaughter, Jennifer Hicks Sperco (Paul); sister, Paula Stotts; grandson, and great-granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence “Ray” and Lenah Martin and his son Ronald “Ronnie” Ray Martin Jr.
Ron was born in Huntsville, Alabama; he grew up in Lincoln Mill Village and graduated from Butler High School. He played minor league baseball before starting a career in electronic sales. Ron was an amateur ham radio operator, avid golfer, and voracious reader. He loved music and played guitar.
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 14, 2024 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 AM with Rev. Tim Cole officiating, followed by a graveside service in Maple Hill Cemetery at 11:00.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Station 2 of the City of Madison Fire Department.
