Ronald Ray Givens Sr.Ronald Ray Givens, Sr., 73, of Athens, AL, passed away on Friday, August 23rd, 2024. Mr. Givens was born on March 22nd, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Roy and Mayme (Dunn) Givens.

Mr. Givens is survived by his wife Virginia Marilyn Givens; daughter Connie J. Givens of Athens, AL; son Timothy D. Givens of Affton, MO; granddaughter Katie D. Allen (Mike Hicks) of Harvest, AL; grandsons Cameron S. Allen of Huntsville, AL, and Ian S. Givens of O’Fallon MO; great-grandson Brayden E. Hicks, brother Mitchell Givens of Cape Girardeau, MO; sister Frances Alton Gardner of Waterloo, IL; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; twelve nieces; eleven nephews; and numerous friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mayme Givens; sisters and brothers-in-law Janette and Bill Acup and Christine and David Hearty; sister-in-law Winnis J. Givens; son Ronald Ray Givens, Jr.; and granddaughter Amanda Marie Branum.

Mr. Givens retired as a locomotive engineer from Missouri Pacific. He worked for forty-four years at Union Pacific Railroad, Dupo, Illinois.

Burial will be September 12th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St Louis, MO, 63125.
