Ronald Lewter, 78, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Lewter was born on May 9th, 1944, to James Lewter and Ozoline Webster Lewter.
Mr. Lewter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy Thornton Lewter; son Travis Lewter (Kelley); daughter Marla Martin; grandchildren Olivia Cathey, Drake Lewter, and Reese Martin; great grandchildren Nora and Owen Cathey.
Preceded in death by his parents and son Marlon Lewter.
Funeral services for Mr. Lewter will be Monday, May 23rd, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Donald Terry and Reese Martin officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 22nd, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy McKinney, Stephen Pack, Tommy Downs, Nick Hamlin, Stanley Thornton, and Daryl Sammet. Honorary pallbearers are Mahlon Chambers, and Gerald Barksdale.
