Ronald Lamar Pitts, age 67, of Charles Town, WV, formerly of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Burial of cremated remains will be held in the Macedonia Cemetery in Sulligent, AL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at the First National Bank of Sulligent.
Ronnie was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on September 9, 1956 to the late James Lamar Pitts and the late Bobbie Jean Haney Pitts. He attended Sulligent High School and Bevill State Community College in Phil Campbell, AL. Ronnie later joined and honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He worked mostly in furniture plants and doing construction. Ronnie was quiet man with a kind heart and a deep abiding love of music and Alabama football. He was a member of the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter; Michelle McCall of Ionia, MI, a son; Jessie Pitts of Ecru, MS, three sisters; Karen Hamrick of Commerce, TX, Pamela McDaniel and Kimberly Hamrick both of Winnsboro, TX, thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a paternal aunt and uncle, and multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; James Lamar and Bobbie Jean Pitts.
