Ronald Gene Sherrill, 66, of Phil Campbell, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was born August 19, 1954. He lived all of his life in the Phil Campbell and Spruce Pine area. He was a 1972 graduate of Phil Campbell High School where he excelled in football, basketball and track. He was a dedicated member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher. He was in the choir and played his guitar and sang specials. He loved having get togethers with his family, Alabama football, vintage Oldsmobiles and playing his guitar. Most of all he loved the Lord and wanted everyone to walk with the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Marlene Sherrill; grandparents, Fred and Lucille Fisher and Sam and Rossie Sherrill; Aunt and Uncle Tommy and JoAnn Strange; uncles, Glen and S.O. Sherrill; in-laws, Bobby Gene and Virginia Scott, Bobby Wayne Scott, Kim Scott Bragwell and Alexander Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years, Deborah Scott Sherrill; son, Ronn Sherrill (Mary); grandson, Tate Wyatt; brothers, Darell Sherrill (Sharon), Tommy Sherrill (Judy), Joel Sherrill (Lynn); sisters, Susan Hooper (Bill), Lori Upchurch (Scott); aunts, Martha Davis and Reba Turner; his cat, Peekaboo; his dog, Mutley; nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
