Ronald Gene Boyd of Adamsville, TN departed this life on July 20, 2019 in Adamsville at the age of 80 Years, 7 Months, 15 Days. He was born December 5, 1938 in Coulterville, IL the son of the late James Harold and Dorothy Carol Campbell Boyd.
Mr. Boyd was a member of Adamsville First Baptist Church. He graduated from Coulterville High School in 1956 and received his Masters in Agricultural Economics in 1966 from Southern Illinois University. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1960 thru 1966 attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Boyd worked for the Hardin County Bank Insurance Agency for ten years and served as Manager for five years. He was a former Mayor of Sardis, TN and a Star Route Mail Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service. He also served as a volunteer with the Henderson County Fire Department. He was a Mason at the Lexington, TN Lodge and a Shriner with the Little Rock, AR chapter.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Boyd of Adamsville, TN whom he married on January 8, 2000; his children, Amy Boyd, Mary Robertson and husband Randy, Sherry Watson, Tina Austin and husband William, Kent Mathis and wife Becky; 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Jim Boyd and wife Sally along with a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Boyd, on September 16, 1998. They were united in marriage on March 11, 1960.
