Ronald E. Bruce, age 73 of Somerset, KY formerly of Winchester, passed away on April 5, 2022 at his residence in Somerset, KY. He was born on March 7, 1949 in Huntsville, AL to the late Aaron and Irene Bruce. Ronald was known as “Dad” to those that knew him well. He worked for many years as a mechanic with Doc Machinery. Although according to him he never worked a day in his life because he loved his job. He was a very intelligent man, who built his own house. Ronald loved to go fishing, playing marbles, and aggravating his wife. He also enjoyed watching the Alabama football games. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Bruce, John Bruce, and Cecil Bruce; daughter, Casey Bruce; sister-in-law, Nancy Hatchett; and mother and father-in-law, Frances and William “Bill” Chovan. He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Stephanie Chovan Bruce; children, Wendy (Daniel) Couch, Shannon Bruce, Jared Bruce; adopted son, Joshua Hobbs; grandchildren; nephew, David (Robin) Wayne; sister and brother-in-law, Connie (George) Miller and Floyd (Becky) Sherman. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Ronald’s memory to Prostate Cancer- American Cancer Society or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 11:00am-1:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
