Ronald “Chigger” Bates – Obituary

Ronald “Chigger” Bates, 66 of Tuscumbia, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Tuscumbia. Larry Bates will be officiating.

Chigger was a lifelong resident of Colbert County. He was a Sheffield High School graduate and the owner and operator of Chigger’s Paint and Body Shop for forty years. He was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous in Sheffield reaching twenty-six years of sobriety before his death. He was a man who truly loved God, whom he thanked for his sobriety. Chigger was a Beloved uncle, brother and friend! He was a beautiful light to this world, who will be missed greatly. “Watch over all of us Chigger as you reside in Heaven.”

He is survived by his sisters, Marcia Bates and Myra Catching both of Tuscumbia; niece, Autumn Catching; and two nephews, Garrett and Colby Catching.
