Officer Roger M. Odell, 47, of Town Creek, died Jan. 28. He was a 24 year veteran of law enforcement. He served as chief of police in Courtland and ended his service in the line of duty in Town Creek. His funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home with full police honors. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Town Creek. Visitation with a Masonic Service will be Saturday, Jan. 31, from 4 until 7 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie (Willie) Odell Jr., a sister, Kate Gillman, and both sets of grandparents.
He was born to Leslie Odell and Fay Campbell Odell on June 26, 1967.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Lee Odell; his children, Elizabeth and Adam Odell and their mother, Sherry Odell; his bonus children, Zach Caudill (Brittany), Cecelia Caudill, and Jesse Clutts (Cassie); one grandson, Dathan Caudill; his mother, Fay Odell, of Russellville, Alabama; two sisters, Karen Linker (Don), of Russellville, Alabama, and Sondra Butler, of Rogersville, Alabama; and a brother-in-law, Garland Gillman.
