Roger Edward Chandler, age 67, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired from UPS, and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Roger was kindhearted, always willing to lend a helping hand, and had a great sense of humor. He loved old muscle cars, fishing, and playing golf. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and the Tennessee Vols. Everyday you could catch Roger eating at Kuntry Kitchen with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Nelson and Ruby Delois Smith Chandler; and one brother, Ronnie Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Joanna Chandler of Lawrenceburg, TN; five siblings, Joyce Johnson (Robert) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Bud Chandler (Vickie) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Pete Chandler (Shirley) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Cleve Chandler (Karen) of Melbourne, FL, and Ricky Chandler of FL; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is also survived by Matt Bassham, whom he loved as his own son, along with Renee, Hannah, and Zach. Those serving as pallbearers are Chris McGill, Parks Chandler, Kyle Chandler, Cody Tenison, Jeff Johnson, and Kenny Mattox. Honorary pallbearers are Gum Springs Baptist Church, current and former UPS employees, Kuntry Kitchen employees, Paul Cox, and Weston Hagen.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2024, with Chad Clanton officiating. Interment will follow at Kidd Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Gum Springs Baptist Church or Kidd Cemetery.
