Funeral service for Roger Dale Smith, Sr. , 68, will be Monday, January 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Harmony Grove Church with Bro. Matt Taylor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will lie in state for one hour at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born December 21, 1953, in Morgan County to James William Smith and Lela Bernastein Powers Smith. He was employed by Smith Brothers Painting, prior to his passing. He loved to fish, garden, and play softball. He loved his children and grandchildren and Jesus, but his grandchildren were his greatest joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Quinton Lamar Smith.
