A great soul, Roger Dale Hall, 71, transformed to life eternal on Monday, July 17, 2023 at NMMC – Pontotoc after an extended illness. Roger was born July 22, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky to Fred and Eartha Campbell Hall. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Ohio where he was an exceptional athlete playing football, track and shot-put. He often joked that his favorite subject in school was lunch. Roger was instrumental in the C.J. Organization which helped children. Roger retired from Brown and Root Construction as an electrician. Previously, he worked at Coca Cola Bottling Company and Red Cap Industries and was a coal miner when he lived in Kentucky. He and his family relocated from Kentucky to Mississippi . He married Paula Short In McNairy Co., TN on July 20, 2001 and she survives. Roger enjoyed God’s creation immensely. He and Paula loved fishing and camping. A talented artist in many areas to including painting, drawing, and singing, Roger was the lead singer for Southbound Band for many years as well as being a talented songwriter. He gave his time performing at benefits to help others. He was a good handy man, a great Southern story teller and had a quick wit and humor.. He loved his wife, daughters and grandchildren supremely and was loved by all who knew him. He and Paula were faithful members of Bissell Baptist Church where he sang in the choir.

A celebration of life service will be at 1 PM, Friday, July 21, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with C. W. Franks officiating. Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Cemetery in New Albany, MS. Visitation will be from 11 AM-service time on Friday only at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Paula Hall of the Furrs Community; 2 daughters, Kim Cook (Brian) and Carolyn Rice (Brandon), all of Viper, Kentucky; 2 daughters he loved through his marriage to Paula, Yolanda Moore (Sam) and Shawna Stach (Jon); 2 sisters, Carol Hall and Peggy Hall; 13 grandchildren, Gabby, Maddie, Julie, Gracie, Luke, Ethan, Dean, Cody, Tijuana, Marlena, Robert, Sierra, and Parish; 8 great-grandchildren, Austin, Allyson, Chloe, Brooke, Lexie, Alantis, Chevy, Heaven, Bailey and Gage; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warren and Cynthia Short; a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Eartha Hall; 1 brother, Frank Hall and 1 daughter, Miona Jeter.

Pallbearers will be Brian Cook, Brandon Rice, Jon Stach, Antonio Carter, Sammy Benson, and Warren Short. Honorary pallbearers will be his all grandchildren and great grandchildren.
