Roger Dale Deaton, 54, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Pickwick Lake in Tennessee as the result of an accidental drowning. Roger was an employee of Vulcan Materials for twenty-five years. He always had a smile, and enjoyed hunting, sports, and spending time with his family. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Forrest Deaton, Peyton Deaton, Hunter Deaton, and Noonan Phifer. Honorary Pallbearers include David James and Wes Hollis. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by one daughter, Bridgett Deaton-Murphy and husband, Robby, of Iuka, MS; one son, Douglas Deaton and wife, Stephanie, of Iuka, MS; one brother, Richard Deaton and wife, Renee, of Memphis, TN; one grandchild, Maribeth Louanne Murphy; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Deaton of Iuka, MS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Deaton; and a brother, Buddy Deaton.
