Mr. Roderick Holton HardinRoderick Hardin was born to the late Jonnie “Jim” Hardin and the late Everlean Parker Hardin Cunningham on October 16, 1960 and departed this life on August 31, 2024. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bob and Odie (Chandler) Hardin, Elzie and Dora (Hampton) Parker); seven uncles: David Hardin, Rev. Roy Williams Sr., Roosevelt Ford, George Hardin, Jesse Alston Sr., Charles Hardin, and Raymond Parker; and three aunts: Geraldine H. Pruitt, Ada H. Williams, and Jackie Allen.

Roderick graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1979. He held several manufacturing jobs during his career.

Roderick had one child (Rod) from his marriage to Deborah Williams. He was later married to Pauline Smith and had two children (Jerome and Savannah).

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Pauline S. Hardin (Huntsville, AL); two sons: Roderick (Charmaine) Hardin and Jerome Hardin (Huntsville, AL); one daughter, Savannah Hardin (Huntsville, AL); two grandchildren: Aalejah Hardin and Nicholas Hardin; two brothers: Johnny Hardin (Decatur, AL) and Frederick Leamon (Huntsville, AL); aunts: Julia Hardin and Ella Ford (both of Toney, AL), Mattie Alston (Cypress, TX), Mary Moore (Decatur, GA), Lura (John) Clay, Lillian Parker, and Pamela Parker (all of Huntsville, AL), Rev. Jennie (Steven) Harrell (Atlanta, GA), Juliet (Dayrel) Moore (Chattanooga, TN), Delbra (Dan) Patton (Garland, TX); uncles: Robert Pruitt and Robert (Joyce) Hardin (all of Toney, AL), Joe (Mary) Hardin (Ardmore, AL), Clifford (Doris) Hardin (Meridianville, AL), Tom (Regina)  Parker (Atlanta, GA), and Julio Allen (Arlington, TX); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Elder Terrence Stewart officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Hardin will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024 and 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Royal Funeral Home.
