Rodd Thomas Keech, age 73, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Dustin Miller and Chris Caldwell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 – 2:00PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 8, 1951, in Galveston, Texas, Rodd was the son to the late William Thomas Keech and the late JoAnn Wayunn Keech.
Rodd pursued higher education, studying engineering for four years before embarking on a distinguished 10-year career in the United States Air Force. As an analyst specialist in missile systems, he served his country with honor and dedication, deploying to Vietnam 28 times. Rodd’s exemplary service earned him several commendations, including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal AFM 9003. Following his military career, Rodd remained deeply committed to supporting fellow veterans as a proud member of Vet to Vet. Rodd was known for his love of technology and photography. He was a dedicated husband to Sherry White Keech, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage. He was an active member of the Maury County Historical Society, the Clan MacKennon Society, and the Maury County Master Gardeners.
He was always eager to own the latest gadgets, especially those with high-quality cameras, which he used to capture stunning images that showcased his creative eye and technical skill. Rodd’s heart was full of love for his family and his beloved fur baby, McKennon, who brought him immense joy and companionship. He was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Covenant Methodist Church.
Rodd is survived by his wife, Sherry Keech; son, Damon Keech of California; daughter, Cheryl Keech of California; brother, Steel Keech of California; and granddaughter, Ayden C. Keech-Salgado.
