Rocky Deon Sanders, age 49 of Winchester, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Waters of Winchester. A native of Franklin County, Rocky was born in Winchester on August 16, 1975. He had worked in the construction industry doing drywall. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed being in the great outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, or camping, especially in the mountains. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Rocky had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes and making others laugh. He was always on the go and a loyal friend to many. Rocky was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Gail Miller Sanders; and grandparents, Daisy Mae Stevens, R.L. Stevens, Lloyd Arthur Sanders, B.D. Miller, and Martha Mae Miller. He is survived by his father, Sherrill Sanders; wife, Karen Pendergrass Sanders; daughters, Taleah Bennett, Kayla (Dewayne) Bishop, and Karlee (Austin) Sanders; grandchildren, Genesis, Viola-Rose, Arianna, Hazel-Ann, and three others; siblings, Vincent (Crystal) Sanders, and Nicole (Leonard) Barbeau; niece, Lacee Barbeau; and nephews, Chase Sanders, Colt Sanders, and Jessie Pendergrass. Visitation will be from 11am-3pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Green Cemetery.
