THE SHOALS-The two-year college system board of trustees agreed to a new service agreement plan for the Robotics Technology Park (RTP) located in Tanner, AL, allowing each community college in the state the opportunity to use the park and utilize the training that can be provided to local campuses. The new plan includes offering courses, lesson plans for colleges and K-12, train the trainer lectures, tours for high school students and other educational services.
RTP is a collaboration between the state of Alabama, Alabama Community College System, Department of Commerce, AIDT and robotics industry leaders across the nation and is an economic development recruiting tool for the entire state. The $80 million research and development park consists of three individual facilities focused on training and development in the field of robotics.
Services and use of RTP are free to Alabama’s industries and businesses. More information on RTP, including course descriptions and schedules can be found on RTP’s website.
