Preceded in death by his mother Robbie and father Carl Wuestefeld.
Butch grew up in Santa Clara, California. He joined the army in 1970 and served his country for a span of 20 active military years until his retirement in 1990. He served in the Vietnam war receiving a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement along with accolades of distinction throughout his years of service. He continued his career as a government employee where he served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
Butch was always the self-less foundation to so many. He had a deep love for his family, traveling, staying physically fit, helping others, riding his motorcycle, enjoying retirement with his wife, watching football ‘roll tide’, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to music and going to concerts, smoking cigars on the porch and sharing a laugh on any occasion.
He is looking down on his family and friends giving us all 2 thumbs up saying “that’s what I’m talking about”. His spirit was released surrounded by his family at home where he wanted to be.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their professionalism and exemplary sensitivity to the family. We would like to thank all of you that sent flowers, cards, visited the family, called, texted and messaged their regards.
There will not be funeral service as per his request, but there will be a family celebration of his life at a later date.
