Mr. Robert Walter Hurley, age 81, of Sipsey passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Hurley was a coal miner, who retired from Virginia Crews and worked for H & H Fabrications. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Sister Diane Tolman will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Hurley; parents Walter and Edith Hurley; aunt and uncle, Ezra and Margaret Bailey; and Fred Walls of Panther WVA.
He is survived by his daughters, Theresa Coolidge (Jimmy) of Sipsey and Misty Chadwick (Kevin Rector) of Corner; son, Bobby Joe Hurley (Jimmie Sue) of Dora; granddaughters, Shae Cates (Chris) of Dora, Katie Hurley (Sarah) of Dora and Chelsea Coolidge (Scottland McKinney) of Cordova; great granddaughters, Kyliee Wright of Dora and Hazel Leigh McKinney of Cordova; great grandsons, Christopher Wright of Dora and Tyler Noah Hicks of Cordova; and a host of brothers, sisters and other family and friends.
