Robert Virgil Morgan, of Decatur, AL passed away on February 14, 2024. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 17 from 6-8 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery with Rev. Scott Letson officiating.
Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years Martha N. Morgan, daughter Beverly A. Morgan, son Robert V. Morgan, Jr. (Bob) and his wife Michele, granddaughter Heather Ralson, grandsons Robert Morgan, and Matthew Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest & Elsie Morgan of Caddo, his sister Marene Morgan and brothers Paul Morgan, and Burl Morgan.
He married Martha Norris in 1956 and they were together for 68 years. They had two children Beverly A. Morgan and Robert V. Morgan, Jr (Bob). He was a grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren Heather, Robert, and Matthew.
Virgil was a builder by trade. He built his first house at the age of 19 and his last at the age of 80. He loved to travel he was a hunter and fisherman. In his lifetime, he was able to travel to five different continents. He served his country from 1961-1963 in the Army. He loved Alabama Football.
But most of all he loved his Lord and Savior. He was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher at an early age.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Robert Morgan Jr., Matthew Morgan, Robert J. Morgan, Nicky Smith, Dwight Terry, and Johnathon Horton.
