Robert Spencer Elliott, Jr., age 71 of Cherokee, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Visitation was Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Tommy West and Bro. Chuck Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Junior was a member of Barton First Baptist Church and a retired maintenance worker for Cherokee High School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Elliott; son, Richard Lee Elliott; parents, Spencer and Eunice Elliott; in-laws, Carl and Ola Mae Thompson; and many beloved brother and sister in-laws.
He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Thompson (Hope) and Terry Thompson (Ann); and sisters-in-law, Linda Smallwood (Larry), Kathy Wilbanks (Wayne), Joyce Hardy, and Lib Hall.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thompson, Jr., Wayne Wilbanks, Robin Darby, Tommy Sledge, Jack Crowell, and Alan Mobley. Donald Collins will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
