Robert R. Schumacher, 71, of Cordova passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the Al Chymia Shrine Temple.
Mr. Schumacher was a retired Fire Chief. He was the youngest fire chief in the state of New Jersey and also taught classes in homeland security. He was a member of Elks Lodge in New Jersey, Salaam Shrine in Livingston, NJ, St. Johns Lodge #1 in Mountain Lakes NJ, Arlington Lodge #641 in Arlington, the Scottish Rite in Memphis, the Park Avenue York Rite Bodies, Zaman Grotto in Memphis, Al Chymia Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters in Memphis, Order of Quetzalcoatl in Memphis, Tall Cedars of Lebanon of West Tennessee, Director of Field Music in Livingston, NJ, Senior Demolay Legion of Honor, past director of ROJ Newark Court #37 in Livingston, NJ, Fraternal Order of Police, and International Order of Fire Chiefs.
He is survived by his loving wife Cathy R. Schumacher; a daughter Kimberly Carroll (Tim) of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son Benjamin Smith of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren Mia Carroll, Drew Carroll, and Mason Carroll; mother in law Dorothy Rundquist; David Nutzell who he thought of as a son; Paul Ferrera who he thought of as a brother and a host of fraternal brothers.
