Robert Maurice McIlwain, Jr. died January 12, 2023 at the age of 86.
Robert was born July 12, 1936 in Waynesboro, Mississippi to Robert Maurice McIlwain Sr. and Cecil Stoker McIlwain. He graduated from Washington County High School, Chatam AL. Robert attended Auburn University, Auburn AL. He retired from Monsanto in Decatur, AL and also retired from Osmose Utilities.
Robert was a member of Moulton Heights Baptist Church, Alabama National Guard, Morgan County Sheriff’s Reserve, Eagle’s Lodge and Elk’s Lodge of Decatur, AL.
Robert was a Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Great Uncle, Great Great Uncle, Dear Friend and so much more to many others! He was an avid Supporter of Auburn University Athletics, War Eagle
Robert was preceded in death by Robert Maurice McIlwain Sr. and Cecil Stoker McIlwain, Son Kevin William McIlwain, Great Granddaughter Madison Hope Warlick and Sister Betty McIlwain Benton
Robert is survived by his son Robert Maurice McIlwain III (Rocky) and Vickie of Decatur, AL
Granddaughter Scarlett Ann McIlwain Gorham and Great Grandson Mason Scott Warlick of Dadeville, AL
Granddaughter Savannah McIlwain, Grandson Dustin McIlwain
Brother Marvin Lee McIlwain of Tallassee, AL
Sister Judy Tucker and husband Reverend Johnny Tucker of Citronelle, AL
He is also survived by several dear friends and numerous nieces and nephews.
If you ever met him, you never forgot him!! Fly High!!
Funeral services will be held on Sunday January 15, 2022 at 2pm at Shelton Funeral Home, Decatur, AL. Burial to follow at Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on that day from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
