Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Lee Thrift, age 55, formerly of Mellow Valley, will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Alan Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Thrift passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 in Lexington, KY. Robert was born in Ashland and raised his family in North Alabama. He loved to fish and drive the open road. Most of all he was a proud PeePaw to his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Michelle Moncus Thrift; son, Colby Thrift and wife Danielle of Sedalia, MO; daughter, Kirstie Thrift of Section, AL; two grandchildren, Juliet Lee Thrift and Kaylee Jayne Talley; brother, Scott Thrift and wife Jennifer of Notasulga, AL; plus a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: JD Thrift and Opal Brand; three sisters: Lisa Roberts, Teresa Tate and Marilyn Roberts; and one brother, Jimmy Wayne Thrift.
Pallbearers will be Nicky Butler, Wayne Butler, Steven Whaley, Dalton Thrift, Ricky Moncus and Scott Mask.
His visitation will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
