Funeral service for Robert Lawrence Keener, age 56, of Decatur,
will be Thursday, April 11, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church
with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends today from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home,
and for one hour prior to service at the church.
Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Keener, who died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital,
was born July 18, 1956, in Beckley, WV,
to Lawrence Keener and Elizabeth Ramsey Keener.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lawrence Keener, II, and his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Evans Keener of Decatur;
two sons, Derek Keener and Kyle Keener, both of Decatur;
two sisters, Nancy Atkins (Steve) of Decatur,
and Mary Ann Dillon (Gary) of Beckley, WV;
three nephews, Sean Heironimus (Alli), Brandon Atkins, and Jason Dillon;
and one niece, Sara Dillon.
Pallbearers will be Steve Atkins, Brandon Atkins, Sean Heironimus,
Jason Dillon, Paul Smith, and Keith Taylor.
Memorial donations may be made to Westmeade Baptist Church
or to the American Cancer Society.
