Robert L “Bob” Glover, age 86, of Sheffield, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 24, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Robert was born on August 3, 1937 to the late Brite and Clara Pippin Glover. He was a retired sheet metal operator with Reynolds Aluminum. Mr. Glover was a member of York Bluff Baptist Church in Sheffield.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Glover was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Maragret Ann Gamble Glover; son, Michael D. Glover; brothers, James Glover, Oscar Glover, Frank Glover, and B.A. Glover Jr.; and sister, Mary Grace Glover Brown.
Survivors include his daughters, Robbie Glover Galloway (Kenny) and Kimberly L. Bates (Kenn Vinson); grandchildren, Emily Thompson (Matt), Mitch Glover (Jennifer), Katie Schlarp (David), Sara Pullen (Jared), Jacob Bates (Hillary), and Jesse Bates (Kristen); great grandchildren, Nicholas, Conner, and Natalie Thompson, Mykal Glover, Kyndal and Avery Schlarp, Jackson and Colton Pullen, Caleigh Allen, Brooklyn Bates, Kallie Bates, Brody Bates, Braxton Bates, Abel Jones, and Maddie E. Elkins; one great great grandchild, Othelia Glover; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Glover, Mykal Glover, Jacob Bates, Jesse Bates, David Schlarp, Jared Pullen, Matt Thompson, and Johnny Bonfield.
The family kindly acknowledges with grateful affection the care offered by Bob’s neighbor, Sandra Barnett, as well as the staff of Amedysis Hospice.
