Funeral Services for Robert Junior Brown, 84, of Ashland will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown Family Cemetery.
Mr. Brown died Thursday, July 27, 2023 and was a lifelong resident of Clay County. He started working at a very young age working at the Bemiston Bag Company for many years, also Talladega Manufacturing and Madix. He worked maintenance for many years as a welder and a millwright. Many days were spent hauling pulpwood with his family, something he did most all his life. He loved westerns, dancing and a good “chew” but most importantly he loved his family.
He is survived by three daughters; Rita Ann Easterwood of Ashland, Neati Faye Yarbrough of Alex City and Sally Jane Turley(Eric) of Ashland; two sons; James Robert Brown(Cari) of Pell City and Sherman Joseph Brown of Ashland; grandchildren, Stormy Layna McClellan(Brent), Mandy Powell(Jason), Daveen Mae, David Kale, Robert Brown(Raegan), Kaitlyn Brown, Mattie Lee Brown(Andrew Lockhart), Jack Curtis Brown, Marshall Brown and Carson Brown; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Hudson and Heidi Rowland and a large extended family and many friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Rob and Mattie Lee Brown; his wives, Faye Hawkins and Madura Haynes Brown; grandson, Phillip Shane Wills and 14 siblings.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 until 8:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
