Robert Hugh Akridge, 99 of Arab passed away Friday, April 30, 2021, at Marshall Manor. Robert was born October 12, 1921 in Etowah County the son of Thomas Harris Akridge and Alma Ernestine Billingsley Akridge. He was retired from the US Navy serving his country with honor and courage and was a member of New Brashier’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He was married to the late Effie Leona Pentecost Akridge for 65 years at the time of her death February 16, 2012.
He is survived by his Son: William Robert “Bobby” Akridge (Pauline); Seven Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren and Three Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Wife: Effie Leona Akridge; Daughter: Linda Akridge Lucas.
Graveside Service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Huntsville.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
