Robert Hearn Morrison – Obituary

Robert Hearn Morrison, age 79, passed away March 22, 2018 at Jackson General Hospital.

He was born May 17, 1938 in the Montezuma Community of Chester County, the son of the late Robert Wesley and Hazel Hearn Morrison. He graduated from Chester County High School, Union University and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Memphis State. He taught at Phillips School House in Chester County, then principal of Pinson Elementary, and retired from Beech Bluff Elementary as principal with forty plus years of service in education.

He was a member of the Pinson Ruritan Club and a member of the Tennessee Education Association.

He enjoyed buying and restoring antique juke boxes. He loved shopping antiques from Tennessee to Colorado.

Mr. Morrison is survived by a daughter, Becky Ann Pritchett (Shawn) of Broomfield, CO and a stepdaughter, Ginger Schutz of Rapid City, SD; two grandchildren, Claire Pritchett and Christopher McPherson; a brother, Dwight Morrison of Jackson and three sisters, Alice Faye Patterson of Henderson, Sibyl Bolton and Teresa Rose both of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Bethany Dawn Morrison, a brother, Glen Morrison and a sister, Imogene Williams.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Haltom’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday.
