Robert Harold Rutherford Sr., age 81 of Huntsville, died Thursday at home. A native of Boonesville, MS, he has resided in Huntsville since 1963. He was a veteran of the US Army and he retired from N.A.S.A. in 1995. Mr. Rutherford also served as an Elder at Lakewood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet Louise (Davis) Rutherford.
He is survived by his son, Robert Harold Rutherford Jr., and wife Shannon, two grandchildren, Ryan and Rayne Rutherford, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday. A service will follow at 3:00 PM at Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terrell Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church.
