Robert H. “Bob” Pilkinton – Obituary

Robert H. “Bob” Pilkinton, 85, of Rogersville, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital.

Mr. Pilkinton was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy where he was a three sport letterman. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a blood donor since 1959, a member of First Baptist Church of Rogersville and retired from South Central Bell Telephone after 40 years.

Visitation will be Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow immediately with Tommy Calhoun, Bertis Ray and Brandon Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Rogersville Funeral Home Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robbie, Eric, Brett, Brian and Austin Pilkinton and T.J. Miller.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lillie Pilkinton; brothers, George and Jessie Pilkinton; sisters, Mary Charles Henderson, Elmer Walls and Thelma Culman. He is survived by his wife, Frances Page Pilkinton; children, Bobby (Nancy) Pilkinton, Mark (Sherry) Pilkinton, Joan (Cecil) Yarber and Jan Marie Pilkinton; grandchildren, Robbie (Amy) Pilkinton, Eric (Stephanie) Pilkinton, Brett (Emily) Pilkinton, Brian Pilkinton, Austin Pilkinton and T.J. Miller; great-grandchildren, Blake Pilkinton and Erin Page Pilkinton; and sister, Betty Ann Hanvey.
