Mr. Robert Edward Irby, age 86, of Arab, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Irby was born on August 14, 1934 to James Otis Irby and Lela Sarah Sims Irby. He was owner and operator of Morgan City Tire for over 35 years. He was a member of Grassy Church of Christ.
Mr. Irby is survived by his wife, Willene White Irby; sons, Marty White; daughters, Celeste McCormick (Michael), Deborah Holladay (Trey), Mary Harden; grandchildren, Charles Shields, Sarah Shields, Corey McCormick, Katie McCormick, William Holladay, Mary Kate Holladay, Laruen Harden, Trent Harden, Marty Van White. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his late wife, Geneva Irby.
Funeral service for Mr. Irby will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Bro. Scott Haga, Bro. Tony Cox & Pastor Jeff Goodwin will officiate service with burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 pm until the time of service on Friday. Pallbearers will include, Charles Shields, William Holladay, Marty Van White & Trent Harden.
In lieu of flowers Mr. Irby’s family has requested donations to be sent to Heartlite Hospice.
