Robert Earl Grisham, Jr., age 74, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, his heart of this world may have failed, but his spirit was stubbornly strong. He was born on March 25, 1949, in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was called Bobby in his youth, “Bob” by his customers, and “Cousin Bobby” or “Little Bobby” by his first cousins, regardless of how old he or they became.
Bobby graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1967. He found his calling in pharmacology, attending Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and graduating with a degree in pharmacy. He was dedicated to his career. He spent his entire career working for SupeRx Drugs, retiring some years ago. His cousins fondly remember visiting him at work in their youth and thought it was pretty neat seeing him dispensing medicine and wearing that white coat. He gained a slew of dedicated customers and colleagues who remained with him throughout his life. Bobby knew everyone. If you wanted to know what was happening, ask Bobby. He was quiet, but informed!
In his later years, Bobby enjoyed spending time in Florida with his cousins, at the river in Florence, AL, eating what is affectionately known as “Grisham Food”, and taking boat rides down Shoal Creek.
We know that Bobby is enveloped by the love of his parents and younger brother who passed before him: his father, Robert Earl Grisham, Sr.; his mother, Martha Eunice Weeks Grisham; and his brother, William Dendon “Denny” Grisham.
Bobby is survived by his 96-year-old uncle, Dr. Andrew Jackson “AJ” Grisham of Warner Robins, GA; a crew of first cousins, extended family, friends, and co-workers he touched throughout his life, who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, Bobby’s family ask that a memorial donation be made to the Pulaski Street Church of Christ Youth Program.
“When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well, with my soul.”
