Robert E. McCall Russell was born September 22, 1932 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late William and Ollie Mae Weaver Russell.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Francine Ashe on September 4, 1953. Mrs. Russell preceded him in death on December 31, 2011. They were married for 58 years.
Mr. Russell worked for the State of Tennessee Highway Department in Bethel Springs. He also owned and operated the Phillips 66 gas station and later Russell Store. He was a member of the Refuge Church of Christ in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, going to flea markets and yard sales.
Mr. Russell departed this life on January 9, 2018 in Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 3 Months, 18 Days. He is survived by two daughters, Diann Harrison of Franklin, TN, Bonnie Plunk of Adamsville, TN; a daughter-in-law, Susie Russell of Bethel Springs, TN; a sister, Shirley Prater and husband Chuck of Memphis, TN; a brother, Sherman Russell and wife Betty of Bethel Springs, TN; brother-in-law, Glen Newsom of Ramer, TN; four grandchildren, John Wesley Harrison and wife Sarah, Christa Lea Harrison, Angie Frazier, Tiffany Ellis and husband Wesley; six great grandchildren, Mason and Marion Harrison, Bethany and Logan Frazier, Emily and Madison Ellis; good friend, Francis Wilson of Bethel Springs, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Russell was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Jeffery and William David Russell; two sisters, Helen Shelton, Annalee Newsom; a brother, Joe Russell.
