Robert E. Brasfield, Jr., 48, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Tupelo. He was born January 12, 1968 in Tupelo to Robert Sr., and Helen Catherine Brasfield. Before his senior year of high school, he had a swimming accident that left him paralyzed, though he went on to graduate from Shannon High School and earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church but prior to that, he’d been an active member of Verona, First Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He enjoyed building car stereo systems and won several competitions. Growing up, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing tennis. He loved everything Mississippi State, especially football.
Services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.
He is survived by his siblings, Tim Jones of Guntown, Dwayne Brasfield of Saltillo, Tammy Brasfield of Bruce, Peggy Clark of Madison, Louise Collins of Houlka and Linda Diane Sisfell; 18 nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Sandra Rogers of Guntown.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pearce, Tim Martin, Robin Thornton, Brian Locastro, Van Peters and Dalton Middleton.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 Saturday.
