Robert Doyle Burleson, age 72 of Summertown, TN passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, surrounded by his boys and his loving wife. He was born on January 14, 1952, in Lawrenceburg, TN to the late Billie Burleson and James L. Burleson. Robert worked for over 30 years in maintenance for both Occidental Chemical Company and Champion Paper Mill. Besides his work life, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on the farm. He spent time coaching and watching his kids and grandkids play sports. Robert’s proudest accomplishments were centered around his family. He cherished his moments spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Janice Louise Burleson, and sons Greg (Kelly) Burleson, Jason (Erica) Burleson, Adam (Katherine) Burleson all from Summertown; 8 grandchildren Anisten, Grant, Gavin, Reagan, Lincoln, Grayson, Cooper, and Amelia Burleson; brothers, James E. Burleson (Shirley), Tracy Burleson (Tammy); sisters, Sandra Hooper (Clarence), Lisa Meigs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billie and James L. Burleson, and brother, Donnie Burleson.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A private graveside service and interment will be conducted at Pleasant Garden Cemetery.
