Robert Doddridge Ferguson, 87, Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Morrison funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A full military service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Ed White, David Conley, and Susan Ferguson officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Robert was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Valdosta Church of Christ, Tuscumbia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Bates; father, Adrian Hunt Ferguson; and sister, Anita Burch.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ferguson; children, Dr. Susan Ferguson and James Robert Ferguson; sisters, Grace Ferguson Woodall and Adrienne Ferguson Tarsel; and granddaughter, Alexandria Martin.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Owen, Roger Choat, Jason Swindle, Kenny Nunnally, Wallace Handley, Mike Longcrier, and Ray Coburn; Roy and Betty Coburn, and Phillip and Pam Whiteside will serve as honorary pallbearers.
