Shon Estill, 49 of Houston, entered into rest on August 9, 2023 in Houston.

 

Shon was born on August 26, 1973 in Haleyville, Alabama to Robert Earl and Rita Dianne Estill. Shon was a Christian man, who enjoyed talking about God to people everywhere he went. He was a perfectionist and a skilled truck driver. He preached at the Winston County jail for 2 years and watched many lives transform during that time. He also passed out preaching CDs at truck stops he would stop at along the way. He enjoyed hunting and carpentry work. He loved spending time with his kids every chance he got and never missed having a teachable moment.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 9 to 11am at Houston Church of God, where services will be at 11:00 am. Pastor Andrew Heptinstall will officiate. Burial will follow in Houston Community Cemetery.

 

Shon is survived by his wife, Ashley Estill; parents, Earl and Dianne Estill; sons, Kaleb Estill and his wife Callie, and Kody Estill; daughters, Kaylie Calloway, and Taylor Alexander; granddaughter, Ada Jean Estill; brother, Shane Estill and his wife Kelly; nephew, Austin Bell, and former wife, Pamela Diane Thompson-Warren.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dallas and Esther Sachs, and George and Vernie Estill; and niece, Katie Bell.
