Mr. Robert Clyde Smith, Jr., 81, of Strawn Drive, Boaz died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Service will be held Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at McRae Chapel with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery. Bro. Tommy Turner and Bro. Mike Goforth will be officiating. Eulogy will be given by Robert C. Smith, III. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6 -8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born in Marshall County, Alabama on Jan. 1, 1932 to Robert Clyde Smith, Sr and Ruby Canola Elrod Smith. He was a dairyman and ran the family dairy for many years.
Mr. Smith is survived by his Wife of 61 years: Sue B. Smith of Boaz, Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Bobby & Laura Smith of Georgia, Bart & Julie Smith of Clay, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Linda & Tommy Turner of Boaz, Grandchildren: Darby & Patrick Phillips, Moriah & Chris Earnest, Caston Smith, Seth McGee, Aubrey Smith, Hannah & Zane Zettler and Alex Smith. Great Grandsons: Hueston Earnest and Judson Phillips, Sisters & Brother-in-Law: Lyda Bostick of Tennessee, Ann Smith of Boaz and Glenda & Fred Smith of Boaz.
Pallbearers will Caston Smith, Seth McGee, Alex Smith, Chris Earnest, Patrick Phillips and Zane Zettler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ellis, Don Morton, Jimmy Ross and the Sonny Lacey Sunday School Class of Sardis Baptist Church.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund,1501 Church Street, Boaz, Alabama 35956
