Robert Cloyd Whitten, 89, of Florence, passed away May 16, 2013, at E.C.M. Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran ofWWII and Korea.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tommy James officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Whitten was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Barnett; parents, Robert and Mittie Whitten; sisters, Gladys Linville, Pauline Wright and Kathleen O’Bryant.
He is survived by his daughters, Edith Ann McBride, of Florence, Brenda Hieber (Ron), of Manchester, Mich.; grandchildren, Laura Roof, Katrina Billin (Jeff), Becky Roof; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cassandra Spoelhof; and wife, Marlene Pruitt Whitten, of Ypslanti, Mich.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
