A visitation for Mr. Robert C. Key will be held Monday night, December 6, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in the chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Johnson Chapel Cemetery, Danville. Robert was born March 16, 1966 to Charles Rayburn Key and Barbara Jacobs Key in Morgan County AL. Robert was a maintenance supervisor at AWL Transport and was highly thought of. He is survived by his parents, his wife of 29 1/2 years, Wendy Ledbetter Key; son, Robert Jacob Key; daughter, Megan Stanley (Josh); three brothers, Tommy Key (Denise), Timmy Key (Jenny), Charlie Key (Chasity); sister Teresa Sanford (Darryl); 4 grandchildren, Jaida, Kole, Josiah, & Conner and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be dearly missed by many.
He was a proud Veteran of the US Army, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and generally just piddling. He attended Cedar Ridge Baptist Church where he thrived in the ministry and faithfully serving his community on many levels. He was involved in the family business and was a mentor to many. He adored his grandchildren and loved traveling and going on cruises with family.
Pall bearers will be Tommy Key, Timmy Key, Charlie Key, Blake Key, Andrew Key, and Tyler Key. Brother Hughe Bohlin will be officiating.
